Professor Myra Walker has been a curator at the Texas Fashion Collection at UNT since 1987, where she also teaches courses in fashion history. Walker was the guest curator at the Meadows Museum at SMU for an exhibition entitled Balenciaga and His Legacy: Haute Couture from the Texas Fashion Collection in 2007. Walker also wrote an exhibition catalog of the same title published in November 2006 by Yale University Press, UK. In fall 2006, Walker established Fashion on Main at 1901 Main in the Universities Center at Dallas. Walker is a member of the Costume Society of America and the American Association of Museums.

Dawn joined the staff at the Texas Fashion Collection in November 2008. She relocated to Texas from Hamilton, New York where she worked as museum assistant for the Picker Art Gallery at Colgate University. She has had a long time love of fashion and is thrilled to be bringing her art and museum background to the Texas Fashion Collection.

 

Edward Hoyenski

Edward joined the staff of the Texas Fashion Collection in January 2011, on loan from the UNT Libraries’ Special Collections Division.  As TFC Collection Manager, he is coordinating the TFC’s Digital Library project as well as working on the catalog and inventory. He has been a volunteer at the TFC for over 18 years, and has his MS in Library Science and his BFA in Art History.
 

 

Doug Dunford is studying Library and Information Sciences and will graduate with his master’s in Summer 2012. He started as a volunteer at the TFC in Spring 2011 and is now an employee of many talents who helps with everything from installing shelves to photographing garments.

 

 

Marla Ross

 

Marla Ross joined the Texas Fashion Collection in 2010. She is majoring in Development and Family Studies and Fiber Arts and plans to work with historical costumes after graduating in 2014.
